More than 500 students attended this year’s Ohio Wesleyan Junior League of Columbus camp, also known as OWjL. Talented and gifted middle school students participated in a weeklong day camp that let them explore new and challenging subjects in mathematics, science, humanities, and creative development. Members of Ohio Wesleyan’s Class of 2014 came to campus in June to participate in StART OWU, the Student Advising, Registration, and Testing program. StART helps to ensure that our new students are prepared academically for fall semester. Students also participate in an orientation program to prepare them for campus.
OWU’s part-time speech instructor Eric Gnezda ’79 performed at a national bipartisan conference on civility held by the Institute for Civility in Government in Washington, D.C. Gnezda performed his song ‘Is This America?’ The June 21 event, held at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, included citizens and national leaders. It explored the importance, challenges, and opportunities for practicing civility in the current culture of partisanship and polarization.
